Tom Malinowski

Tom Malinowski previously represented New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District from 2019 to 2023. Before joining Congress, Tom built a career in public service and human rights. He began as an assistant to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan and a researcher at the Ford Foundation, then served at the State Department as a speechwriter for Secretaries of State Warren Christopher and Madeleine Albright. He later oversaw the National Security Council’s foreign policy speechwriting team under President Clinton and was Washington Advocacy Director for Human Rights Watch. Tom also served as Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor under President Obama. Tom is a dedicated foreign policy leader who has defended democracy, strengthened alliances, and advanced American values at home and abroad.
