James Talarico

U.S. Senate, texas

James is a teacher, theologian, and Texas State Representative who has built his career around public service and moral leadership. Raised by a single mother in Central Texas, James attended public schools before earning degrees from The University of Texas at Austin and Harvard Divinity School. He later taught middle school, where he saw firsthand how inequality and underinvestment impact working families and shape the future of American democracy. Elected to the Texas House in 2018, James has become a leading voice for public education, voting rights, economic justice, and democratic accountability. Now, he’s running for U.S. Senate to take his fight against corruption to Washington, win power back for working people, and restore American credibility in the world. His approach to foreign policy is grounded in the belief that America should lead with diplomacy, human rights, and moral courage — supporting our democratic allies, pursuing peace, and rejecting the politics of fear, extremism, and endless war. James will fight for our values, not the interests of the powerful few.
