Leading Representative endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America Action Network

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - June 17, 2019

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America Action Network announced today its endorsement of Representative Tom Malinowski for re-election. As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and a leading voice on human rights, Representative Malinowski is running to represent New Jersey for a second term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“Since his election last year, Tom Malinowski has quickly emerged as one of Congress’ most powerful voices for principled American foreign policy,” said Andrew Albertson, treasurer of Foreign Policy for America Action Network. “He’s stood up for the weak and the oppressed, taken action to stop our shameful sale of weapons to Saudi Arabia, and introduced important legislation to protect American elections from interference. We’re proud to support his re-election to Congress.”

"I am grateful to Foreign Policy for America Action Network for their support and look forward to working with them to protect America's values and alliances around the world,” said Malinowski.

Prior to Congress, Malinowski served as an Assistant Secretary of State under President Obama, fighting to defend liberty, equality, and rule of law. As Washington Director of Human Rights Watch, he helped lead a bipartisan effort to stop the use of torture. As a first term Member of Congress serving on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Malinowski has led efforts to protect American elections from foreign interference and defend human rights.

Malinowski is one of Foreign Policy for America Action Network’s first five House endorsements, all announced today, along with Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-7), Rep. Andy Kim (NJ-3), Rep. Jason Crow (CO-6), and Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-8). The organization previously endorsed two Senate candidates in the 2020 cycle: Senator Jeanne Shaheen, running for re-election in New Hampshire, and former ambassador Dan Baer, running for Senate in Colorado. Foreign Policy for America Action Network also endorsed Malinowski in his successful run for Congress in 2018.
