Foreign Policy for America Endorses Rep. Susan Wild (PA-07) for Re-election

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - June 27, 2023

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Representative Susan Wild for re-election to the U.S. Congress as the Representative from Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District. Rep. Wild is the incumbent candidate in PA-07 and was first elected to represent the district in 2018.

“Susan is one of the hardest working legislators in Washington – whether she’s fighting to advance benefits for veterans, strengthen pandemic preparedness, or increase tech and infrastructure investments in the Lehigh Valley, Susan is always focused on improving the lives of Pennsylvanians,” said Andrew Albertson, executive director of Foreign Policy for America. “As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Susan regularly reminds us that U.S. foreign policy begins at home. She supports trade policies that create new opportunities for American workers and businesses, listens closely to the diverse voices in her district, and champions democracy and human rights at home and abroad. In just three terms, she’s become a critical bipartisan leader whose compassion and thoughtfulness are an asset in every policy discussion. We couldn’t be prouder to endorse her for re-election.”

Prior to her time in Congress, Rep. Wild worked as a civil litigator and was the first woman to be appointed Solicitor of the City of Allentown. When she was elected in 2018, she became the first woman to represent PA-07 in Congress. In her third term, Rep. Wild is focused on developing international trade and labor policies that support local economic and job growth, ensuring that the U.S. remains a committed leader in our international and multilateral partnerships, and mitigating threats from Chinese telecoms technology. Rep. Wild serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and is Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations. She also serves on the Committees on Ethics; Education and Labor; and Science, Space and Technology.

"From supporting smart trade policy to grow jobs here at home and keep us internationally competitive, to standing up for democracy, human rights, and American values globally, I'm working every day to make sure our foreign policy delivers for Pennsylvanians," said Congresswoman Susan Wild. "I'm honored to receive Foreign Policy for America's first 2024 U.S. House endorsement — their belief in diplomacy that builds American prosperity and stays true to our fundamental values of liberty, democracy, and human rights is one I share, and one you can always count on me to advance."

Rep. Wild is the first House candidate FP4A has endorsed in the 2024 election cycle, joining endorsed Senate candidates Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-Sen) and Rep. Colin Allred (TX-Sen). Our endorsed candidates are chosen because of their consistent leadership in favor of diplomacy-first foreign policy.

Foreign Policy for America is a nonpartisan advocacy organization working to strengthen support for principled American engagement in the world. We support policies that keep Americans safe and out of conflicts, advance prosperity for all, and are true to our country’s highest values.
