Foreign Policy for America Endorses Gov. Steve Bullock (MT) for Election

Montana Governor endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America 

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - October 13, 2020

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Steve Bullock for election. A native of Montana and its two-term governor, Bullock is running to represent the people of Montana in the U.S. Senate.

“Steve Bullock has guts and independence. And that’s the kind of leader we need in Washington right now,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “He’s been fighting dark money in politics since his time as Montana’s Attorney General. Through two terms as Governor, he’s worked with leaders in both parties to bring jobs to the state and address the climate crisis. And we know he’ll be a strong voice for our military service members and their families by making sure the U.S. only deploys troops as the last resort, not as the first one. We’re proud to endorse Steve because Montanans deserve to have leaders who are fighting for them.”   

After graduating with honors from Columbia Law School, Governor Bullock began his career in public service as legal counsel to Montana’s Secretary of State. In 2008, he was elected Attorney General of Montana, where he soon established a reputation of reaching across the aisle to achieve major legislative victories. As Governor, Bullock has signed legislation and issued an executive order to bring “dark money” to light while countering its influence upon Montana politics. He hopes to bring this crucial experience building bipartisan coalitions for important initiatives to the Senate, where he would look to lead on issues such as trade, climate change, and the use of military force.
