Foreign Policy for America Action Network Endorses Representative Sri Kulkarni (TX-22) for Election

Former Foreign Service Officer endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America Action Network

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - October 3, 2019

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America Action Network announced today its endorsement of Sri Kulkarni for election. As a former Foreign Service Officer who has served in some of the most critical posts in the world, Kulkarni is running to represent Fort Bend and Greater Houston in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“Sri Kulkarni served our country overseas as a diplomat, safeguarding Americans traveling abroad and working with allies to protect our interests,” said Andrew Albertson, treasurer of Foreign Policy for America Action Network. “Congress needs more leaders like Sri, who understand the power of diplomacy and represent the best of our values as a country, rather than constantly sparking new conflicts and trade wars. That’s why we’re proud to endorse Sri today.”

“I am thrilled to receive the endorsement of Foreign Policy for America,” said Kulkarni. “Serving as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer for almost fifteen years, in Iraq, Israel, Russia, Taiwan, and Jamaica I am extremely concerned about the United States’ role in the world and the direction our country is heading. Today, our democratic institutions and national security are on the line, and I look forward to continuing the fight in Congress to protect our nation and return the U.S. to a position of leadership we once were around the world.

Kulkarni joined the Foreign Service right out of college and served for more than a decade in conflict zones, hostile foreign nations, and other highly sensitive diplomatic posts around the globe. He then went on to serve as a Pearson Fellow, working as a defense, foreign policy, and veterans’ affairs advisor in the U.S. Senate. In 2017, in the aftermath of the events surrounding the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Kulkarni resigned his commission with the Foreign Service and returned home to serve the people of his district. If elected, Kulkarni will bring a wealth of national security knowledge to Congress and dedicate himself to immigration reform.

Kulkarni is one of Foreign Policy for America Action Network’s four House endorsements announced today, along with Scott Cooper (NC-02), Dan Feehan (MN-01), and Gina Ortiz Jones (TX-23). This group joins incumbent House Members already endorsed by the organization: Rep. Colin Allred (TX-32), Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06), Rep. Andy Kim (NJ-03), Rep. Tom Malinowski (NJ-07), Rep. Max Rose (NY-11), Rep. Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11), Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-08), and Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07). The organization has also endorsed Senator Jeanne Shaheen, running for re-election in New Hampshire.
