FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - April 15, 2020
WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Sara Jacobs for election. She’s served at the State Department, UNICEF, and the United Nations, and now Jacobs is running to represent the people of California’s 53rd district in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Sara is part of the new generation of leaders who we’re seeing remake Congress,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “She has the commitment and the drive to tackle the challenges of the future – the climate crisis, global health challenges, and immigration reform. And I know she’ll be ready to dive in on day one. That’s exactly what we need right now in Washington, and that’s why we’re so proud to support Sara.”
A third generation San Diegan, Jacobs is the Founder and Chair of “San Diego for Every Child,” which works with domestic and international partners to halve the experience of childhood poverty in San Diego County by 2030. Prior to that, she worked for the UN and UNICEF, and then served at the State Department during the Obama administration, focusing on East and West African conflict zones. If elected, Jacobs hopes to serve on the Foreign Affairs Committee.
