Foreign Policy for America Endorses Max Rose (NY-11) for Election

Former Senior Pentagon Advisor and veteran endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - January 27, 2022

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Max Rose for election. With a proven track record of service as a veteran, senior advisor at the Pentagon, and former national security leader in Congress, Rose is running to represent New York’s eleventh district once again.

“Max Rose is a devoted public servant who understands firsthand what it means when we send American service members to war,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “After serving in Afghanistan as a decorated U.S. Army platoon leader, he was elected to represent his community in Congress, where he distinguished himself as an outspoken proponent of restoring Congress’ constitutional authority on matters of war and peace. During his time in Congress, Max deployed with the National Guard to assist New York City's COVID response. After leaving Congress, Max continued his public service at the Pentagon. We need Max’s unique leadership back in Congress, and we are very proud to endorse him again.”

Rose served as a U.S. Army officer in Afghanistan from 2012-2013 and continues to serve as an Infantry Officer in the New York National Guard. His decorations include the Ranger tab, the Combat Infantryman Badge, a Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart. Following his active-duty service, Rose worked as Director of Public Engagement to a Brooklyn District Attorney and then as Chief of Staff for Brightpoint Health, a non-profit healthcare organization. In 2018, Rose was elected to Congress as the first post-9/11 combat veteran to represent New York City and served as Chair of the Intelligence and Counterterrorism Subcommittee on the House Homeland Security Committee. Most recently as Senior Advisor on COVID to the Secretary of Defense, Rose coordinated the Defense Department's internal response as well as its support nationally and globally, earning the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service.
