Global health advocate endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - May 4, 2020
WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Kate Schroder for Congress. A 5th-generation Cincinnatian, Schroder is a global health expert with experience in legislative politics, and she’s running to represent the people of Ohio’s first district in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“There’s no leader in the country more suited to this moment than Kate Schroder,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “As Congress works to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kate will bring unparalleled public health experience to help protect families in Hamilton and Warren counties and advance our interests and values abroad. Her career of public service shows just how hard she’ll work for her constituents from the day she enters office. That’s why we’re proud to endorse Kate, and why we’re so eager to send her to Washington.”
Schroder began her career working in legislative politics for Senator Evan Bayh in D.C. and the Cincinnati City Council. She then joined the Advisory Board Company as a healthcare researcher and consultant, and later headed to Africa with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) as its Zambia Country Director. At CHAI, Schroder worked to improve treatment rates for children with pneumonia and diarrhea, eventually becoming Vice President of Essential Medicines. In 2016, Schroder was appointed to Cincinnati’s Board of Health, and she now serves as its Finance Chair.
Schroder joins other FP4A endorsed Senate and House candidates: Rep. Colin Allred (TX-32), Rep. Gil Cisneros (CA-39), Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06), Cal Cunningham (NC), Evelyn Farkas (NY-17), Dan Feehan (MN-01), Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), Sara Jacobs (CA-53), Mark Kelly (AZ), Rep.
