WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Jon Ossoff for election. After disrupting the Georgia political scene with his special election congressional run in 2017, Ossoff is running to represent Georgia in the U.S. Senate.
“Jon is a fighter, pure and simple, and I know he’ll bring that same spirit to Washington to represent the people of Georgia,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “Jon has dedicated his career to strengthening our national security and exposing corruption. I think that worries a lot of lobbyists and others who like things the way they are, and that’s why they’re trying so hard to stop him. But the truth is that Jon’s exactly the kind of leader we need to bring about real change, and that’s why we’re proud to support him.”
Ossoff earned his bachelor's degree from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service and his master’s from the London School of Economics, and began his career as a national security aide on the Hill, where he worked on Rep. Hank Johnson’s armed services portfolio. He went on to take over as CEO of Insight TWI, a 30-year-old multi-Emmy award-winning television production company that investigates corruption, organized crime, and war crimes for international news organizations. In 2017 he ran for Congress in a special election in Georgia’s 6th congressional district, gaining national attention. As a first-term Member of Congress, Ossoff hopes to serve on the Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committees.
Ossoff joins other FP4A endorsed Senate and House candidates: Rep. Colin Allred (TX-32), Rep. Gil Cisneros (CA-39), Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06), Cal Cunningham (NC), Dan Feehan (MN-01), Sara Gideon (ME), Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), Sara Jacobs (CA-53), Gina Ortiz Jones (TX-23), Mark Kelly (AZ), Rep.
