Former Las Cruces City Council Councilor endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 17, 2022

WASHINGTON D.C. — Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Gabe Vasquez for election to New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District.

“Gabe Vasquez is an experienced public servant – exactly the kind of no-nonsense, next generation leader we need in Congress,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “Drawing on his deep experience, I know he’ll work across the aisle to deliver investments in US energy security, climate action, and new high quality jobs for New Mexico. That’s why we’re so proud to endorse him today.”

Vasquez is a dedicated public servant with a history of service for New Mexico. As a senior aide to Senator Martin Heinrich, Vasquez helped protect public lands across southern New Mexico from harmful development practices. On the Las Cruces City Council and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, he delivered millions of dollars in investments in infrastructure and job creation that lifted families out of poverty. Vasquez is running to represent the second largest congressional district bordering Mexico and would be a leader on smart immigration reform.

Vasquez joins other FP4A endorsed candidates this cycle: Rep. Colin Allred (TX-32), Sen. Michael Bennet (CO-Sen), Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06), Rep. Val Demings (FL-Sen), Lt. Gov. John Fetterman (PA-Sen), Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), Rep. Dan Kildee (MI-08), Rep. Andy Kim (NJ-03), Rep. Tom Malinowski (NJ-07), Rep. Betty McCollum (MN-04), Max Rose (NY-11), Rep.
