Don Beyer

Don Beyer is a lifelong public servant. He currently represents Virginia’s 8th Congressional District, and his extensive career in public service includes two terms as Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor from 1990 to 1998 and an ambassadorial posting to Switzerland and Liechtenstein from 2009 to 2013. In the 119th Congress, Don serves as the Senior House Democrat on the Joint Economic Committee and as a member of the Ways and Means Committee. He is also a co-founder of the Congressional Arms Control Working Group and a co-founder of the Egyptian Human Rights Caucus. Throughout his career, Don has been a vocal supporter of U.S. diplomacy, a champion for human rights, and a leader on free-trade and sustainable climate solutions.
