Leading Representative endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - March 22, 2021

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Representative Colin Allred for re-election. As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Representative Allred is running to represent Texas’s 32nd district for a third term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“What makes Colin a special lawmaker is the respect he commands from members of Congress on both sides of the aisle,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “Colin understands the power of America’s example in the world and the steps needed to rebuild our diplomatic relationships, and when he speaks others listen. We’re proud to support Colin for re-election because he’s been an outstanding advocate for diplomacy-first foreign policy.”

Representative Allred, after an NFL career, pursued a career in law, becoming a civil rights attorney. He served in the General Counsel’s office at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under Secretary Julián Castro in the Obama administration, before returning home to Dallas to represent the district he grew up in. Serving on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Allred has led efforts to strengthen democracy and human rights at home and abroad and support diplomacy-first foreign policy in the Middle East.

Allred is one of Foreign Policy for America’s first four endorsements of the 2022 cycle, along with Rep. Andy Kim (NJ-03), Rep. Tom Malinowski (NJ-07), and Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07). These four were chosen because of their consistent leadership in favor of diplomacy-first foreign policy.

Foreign Policy for America is a nonpartisan advocacy organization working to strengthen support for principled American engagement in the world. We support policies that keep Americans safe and out of conflicts, advance prosperity for all, and are true to our country’s highest values.
