 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - September 3, 2019

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America Action Network announced today its endorsement of Representative Colin Allred for re-election. As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Representative Allred is running to represent Dallas for a second term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“Since entering Congress, Colin Allred has been a powerful voice for America’s traditional values when it comes to foreign policy,” said Andrew Albertson, treasurer of Foreign Policy for America Action Network. “He’s stood up for the weak and the oppressed, advocated for strong trade practices, and championed America’s relationships with our democratic allies. We’re proud to support his re-election to Congress.”

“The world needs America to be a voice for stability and now more than ever, Congress must play an active role in foreign policy” said Allred. “I am honored to receive the endorsement of Foreign Policy for America and I am dedicated to working in collaborative ways to ensure our nation’s foreign policy reflects our American values.”

Representative Allred, after an NFL career, pursued a career in law, becoming a civil rights attorney. He served in the General Counsel’s office at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under Secretary Julián Castro in the Obama administration, before returning home to Dallas to represent the district he grew up in. As a first term Member of Congress serving on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Allred has led efforts to build stronger trade agreements and provide emergency assistance in the border crisis.

Allred is one of Foreign Policy for America Action Network’s three House endorsements announced today, along with Rep. Max Rose (NY-11) and Rep. Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11). This group joins other House Members already endorsed by the organization: Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06), Rep. Andy Kim (NJ-03), Rep. Tom Malinowski (NJ-07), Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-08), and Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07). The organization has also endorsed two Senate candidates in the 2020 cycle: Senator Jeanne Shaheen, running for re-election in New Hampshire, and former ambassador Dan Baer, running for Senate in Colorado.
