Foreign Policy for America Endorses Christina Bohannan for Election in IA-01

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – December 5, 2025

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America has endorsed Christina Bohannan for Iowa’s 1st Congressional District.

“Christina Bohannan understands that America’s strength abroad begins with strong democratic institutions here at home. As a professor of constitutional law, she has been a champion for accountability, transparency, and the rule of law,” said Andrew Albertson, executive director of Foreign Policy for America. “She is ready to lead from day one, meeting the moment to ensure that American values remain at the heart of our engagement with the world.”

Christina Bohannan is a Constitutional Law professor at the University of Iowa and a former Representative in the Iowa State House. Bohannan was the first in her family to graduate college, first earning a degree in environmental engineering and later a degree in law. Bohannan has worked as an engineer with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and as a clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. She was elected to the Iowa legislature in 2020, where she worked to support small businesses, increase investment in public schools, and protect seniors. In Congress, Bohannan will continue to be a champion for small businesses and public education and will also fight to address rising costs, increase Iowa’s access to markets, and make Iowa a clean-energy leader.

Foreign Policy for America is a nonpartisan advocacy organization working to strengthen support for principled American engagement in the world. We support policies that keep Americans safe and out of conflicts, advance prosperity for all, and are true to our country’s highest values.
