 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - May 25, 2021

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Representative Chrissy Houlahan for re-election. As a member of both the House Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committees, Representative Houlahan is running to represent the Pennsylvania’s sixth district for a third term in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“Since her first day in office, Chrissy Houlahan has devoted herself to bipartisan problem solving to safeguard the security of her constituents,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “As a member of both the Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committees, she’s an incredibly hard worker and has been a leading voice for restoring U.S. leadership in the world. We’re proud to endorse Representative Houlahan for re-election, and we look forward to working with her in the years ahead.”

After attending Stanford University, Representative Houlahan, who is a third generation military veteran, served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force for three years before transitioning to 13 years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, where she attained the rank of Captain. After finishing her active duty, Houlahan harnessed her entrepreneurial spirit and worked as the Chief Operations Officer of apparel brand AND1 and eventually founded Philadelphia-based non-profit start-up B-Lab. She also worked as a science teacher for one year in a Philadelphia public school before being motivated to run for Congress. Rep. Houlahan has used her membership on the Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committees to lead on major issues including the rights of women and girls around the world, cybersecurity, and the U.S.-China relationship.

Houlahan joins other FP4A endorsed candidates: Rep. Colin Allred (TX-32), Rep. Andy Kim (NJ-03), Rep. Tom Malinowski (NJ-07), and Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07). Our endorsed candidates are chosen because of their consistent leadership in favor of diplomacy- first foreign policy.
