Foreign Policy for America Endorses Cait Conley for New York’s 17th Congressional District

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 25, 2026

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Cait Conley for election to Congress as the next Representative from New York's 17th Congressional District.

“Cait Conley has spent her career defending this country, from six deployments as an Army officer to running counterterrorism policy at the National Security Council to protecting our elections at CISA,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “Cait is well-prepared to fight on behalf of Hudson Valley families. We're proud to support Cait's campaign.”

“As someone who has put my life on the line to defend this country, I know how critical it is that we take a principled approach to foreign policy that maintains our standing in the world and protects the lives of Americans at home and abroad. I’m grateful to organizations like Foreign Policy for America for their leadership, and I’m honored to have their support in this race,” said Cait Conley, Democratic nominee for New York’s 17th Congressional District.

Cait Conley is a Hudson Valley native, the daughter of a postal worker and a construction worker. She applied to West Point the day after 9/11 and went on to serve in the Army, first as a military police officer and then in special operations leadership, deploying six times and earning three Bronze Stars. Conley concluded her active-duty career as Director of Counterterrorism at the National Security Council, where Russia sanctioned her for her work, and then served as a senior executive at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, protecting critical infrastructure and the systems that run our elections. She put her life on the line to serve this country, not any person or political party, and especially not corporate special interests. Now, Conley is running to take on corruption so politicians can’t keep lining their pockets at the taxpayers’ expense, including by banning stock trading; lower middle-class taxes; and hold monopoly utility companies and big pharma accountable to lower costs.

Cait joins other FP4A endorsed candidates: Rep. Gabe Amo (RI-01), Rep. Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03), Chris Backemeyer (NE-01), Rebecca Bennett (NJ-07), Rep.
