Foreign Policy for America Action Network Endorses Sara Jacobs for Congress (CA-49)
Former State Department Officer endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America Action Network
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Washington, D.C. – May 15, 2018) The Foreign Policy for America Action Network has endorsed Sara Jacobs, candidate for Congress in California’s 49th District, the political action committee announced today.
“Sara Jacobs is absolutely inspiring. She recognizes both the challenges – and the opportunities – our country will grapple with in the years ahead, and she’s ready to face them,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director at Foreign Policy for America. “At a time when Congress seems broken, Sara is exactly the kind of leader we need to move us forward.”
“It is incredibly meaningful to receive the endorsement of my peers and former colleagues at Foreign Policy for America.” Jacobs said. “I’m honored that they recognize my qualifications to be a champion on so many of the policies I’ve studied and worked on for the past decade, and I’m looking forward to partnering with them to make sure we are developing sound foreign policy: re-prioritizing diplomacy, adequately funding and staffing the State Department and USAID, and engaging in thoughtful leadership on the world stage.”
Jacobs is a proud San Diego County native. Prior to running for office, she was the CEO of Project Connect, a non-profit that focuses on educational access through global data mapping. She previously served as a foreign policy advisor to Secretary Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign and as a Conflict and Stabilization Policy Officer at the State Department, where she researched the factors that led young people to join ISIS and developed strategies to counter violent extremism. She has also worked in the UNICEF Innovation Unit and the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations.
Jacobs joins Rep. Salud Carbajal (CA-24), Rufus Gifford (MA-3), Ken Harbaugh (OH-7), Andy Kim (NJ-3), Tom Malinowski (NJ-7), Amy McGrath (KY-6), Rep. Jacky Rosen (NV), Elissa Slotkin (MI-8), and Nancy Soderberg (FL-6) as candidates for Congress endorsed by the Foreign Policy for America Action Network in the 2018 election cycle.
