Foreign Policy for America Action Network Endorses Salud Carbajal for Congress (CA-24)
Freshman congressman and Marine veteran endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America Action Network
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Washington, D.C. – February 12) The Foreign Policy for America Action Network has endorsed Salud Carbajal for reelection in California’s 24th Congressional District, the political action committee announced today.
“Salud Carbajal has emerged as a vital leader on national security issues during his first term in Congress,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. "As a member of the Armed Services Committee, he fought to have Congress recognize that climate change is a direct threat to the national security of the United States. He stood up to attacks on transgender troops and worked to strengthen our military. We are proud to endorse Salud Carbajal for re-election.”
“Our nation is more secure when we strengthen relationships with allies that share our ideals and vision for the future,” said Congressman Carbajal. “Rapidly evolving threats to our national security, including cyber-terrorism and climate change, require thoughtful leadership to protect our service members and citizens. I am grateful for Foreign Policy for America’s support in continuing my service to the Central Coast and all Americans.”
Rep. Salud Carbajal, who immigrated from Mexico as a young child, is a freshman member of Congress. Before entering Congress, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for eight years, including active duty service in North Carolina during the Gulf War, and as Santa Barbara County’s first district supervisor for 12 years. Carbajal sits on the Armed Services and Budget committees.
Rep. Carbajal is the FP Action Network’s first endorsed incumbent. The organization has also endorsed Rufus Gifford (MA-3), Ken Harbaugh (OH-7), Andy Kim (NJ-3), Tom Malinowski (NJ-7), Elissa Slotkin (MI-8), and Nancy Soderberg (FL-6).
