Foreign Policy for America Action Network Endorses Representative Max Rose (NY-11) for Re-Election
Leading Representative endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America Action Network
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - September 3, 2019
WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America Action Network announced today its endorsement of Representative Max Rose for re-election. As a leading voice on the House Committee on Homeland Security, Representative Rose is running to represent Staten Island for a second term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Max Rose is an American hero with a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and an Army Ranger Tab” said Andrew Albertson, treasurer of Foreign Policy for America Action Network. “We’re proud to endorse this Afghanistan veteran who has dedicated himself to Congress’s role in ending America’s forever wars and specifically to the repeal of the 2001 AUMF.”
"Having served in combat in Afghanistan, I've seen firsthand the impact of decisions made in Washington,” said Rep. Max Rose. “The fact is, we're going to have soldiers enlisting this year who weren't even alive on 9/11. It's time to end the forever wars instead of sending another generation into harm's way. I'm honored to receive the endorsement of Foreign Policy for America and look forward to continuing the fight to have Congress reassert its role in determining American engagement on the world stage while maintaining a strong but smart foreign policy."
Representative Rose served as a U.S. Army officer in Afghanistan from 2012-2013 and continues to serve as a Captain and company commander in the National Guard. Following his active duty service, Rose worked as Director of Public Engagement and Special Assistant to a Brooklyn District Attorney and then as Chief of Staff for Brightpoint Health, a non-profit healthcare organization. As a first term Member of Congress serving on the House Committee on Homeland Security and the first post-9/11 combat veteran to represent New York City, Rose has led efforts to strengthen our national security.
Rose is one of Foreign Policy for America Action Network’s three House endorsements announced today, along with Rep. Colin Allred (TX-32) and Rep. Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11). This group joins other House Members already endorsed by the organization: Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06), Rep. Andy Kim (NJ-03), Rep. Tom Malinowski (NJ-07), Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-08), and Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07). The organization has also endorsed two Senate candidates in the 2020 cycle: Senator Jeanne Shaheen, running for re-election in New Hampshire, and former ambassador Dan Baer, running for Senate in Colorado.
